This Privacy Policy explains how 2Hame ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our website and services (the "Platform"), in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya.

1. Information we collect

Account information (name, email, phone number, profile photo); listing information (property or service details, photos, location); payment information necessary to process transactions (e.g. M-Pesa transaction references - we do not store your M-Pesa PIN or full payment credentials); and usage information (pages viewed, device and browser information, approximate location for map-based search).

2. How we use it

To operate the Platform (create your account, show your listings, connect you with movers or house hunters); to process payments you initiate; to send service communications (booking confirmations, account notices) and, where you've opted in, our newsletter; to keep the Platform secure and prevent fraud; and to improve the service based on how it's used.

3. Sharing

We share information with other users as necessary for the Platform to function - for example, a property owner sees the contact details of an interested house hunter who reaches out, and a mover you contact can see the details relevant to your move request. We share data with service providers who help us operate the Platform (e.g. payment processors, hosting, email delivery), bound by confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data (subject to legal or legitimate business retention needs), and object to certain processing, including marketing communications - you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email or by contacting us.

5. Data retention

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences (like light/dark mode), and understand how the Platform is used.
